Skin and stress are so directly related, there’s a term for it: psychodermatology. This is the practice of treating skin disorders via psychiatric and psychological techniques. This new subspeciality of dermatology stems from a survey that shows 30 to 60% of patients who seek help for their skin also suffer with emotional stress. The skin conditions that may be most related to our emotions are psoriasis, eczema, hives and acne.
